An invitation is extended to all parishioners of Kanturk & Lismire and Castlemagner to attend an important meeting in the School Hall, Scoil Mhuire, Kanturk at 7.30pm on Monday 10t November to participate in the next stage of an ongoing process of planning the future of our parishes (Kanturk & Lismire and Castlemagner) in the light of the declining number of priests and many other challenges. At this meeting a presentation will be made to inform parishioners of the current situation across the Diocese, and a number of questions provided by Bishop Crean will be discussed. This meeting is a follow-up to the recent Kanturk Deanery meeting where representatives from the Parish Pastoral Councils, and other volunteers, from all the parishes in the Kanturk Deanery gathered.
Feedback from our parish meeting will go to the next Deanery meeting to be held at the end of November, and discussions at all these gatherings will be used in discerning a way forward for our parish, our neighbouring parishes, and all the parishes of the Diocese.
