Homebeat & plugd are proud to present an evening of spellbinding music from three of the finests, and most unique folk voices we have on the island of Ireland - I Have A Tribe & Sun Collective with support from Annie Bloch
I Have A Tribe
Multi talented and massively expressive troubadour who's piano led folk has led him across the world including recently joining various artists of the PEOPLE collective Berlin, and opening for Lisa Hannigan + Stargaze Orchestra at the National Concert Hall.
Cinematic folk duo led by the songwriting talents of Caimen Gilmore - who recently played with Zach Condon of Beirut and more at the P-E-O-P-L-E festival in the Funkhaus Berlin.
Just this month Sun Collective made their debut Australian appearance at the Woodford Folk Festival Australia.
Annie Bloch (23-years old), born in Lower Saxony (GER), reborn in Ireland, writes melancholic lyrics and songs that come to life in the shape of experimental arrangements. At the age of 18 she moved to Ireland in search of music that resonates with hers. One year later, she recorded her first album “In Between” at home. She plays all the instruments on it herself: piano, guitar, violin, e-drums, brushes and anything else she could find. It was published on her friend’s label Wavemen Records, Osnabrück (GER). Her visits to the Faroe Islands and Iceland influenced her sound. Back in Germany, she put together a band of German and Irish musicians and finds a more folky sound. Recordings for an EP will be released in Spring 2019. Folk and Indie artists like Bright Eyes, Sufjan Stevens and Angus & Julia Stone, but also the Post-rock band Sigur Ros influence her sound.
The multiinstrumentalist now also presents her instrumental organ compositions that are another product of her diverse musical background.
