Cork Philharmonic Winds - Threads and Transcriptions

Cork Philharmonic Winds are delighted to welcome Geoff Spratt as guest conductor for a concert that features the music of John O'Connor.

Geoff has assembled a fascinating programme of music. There are three themes; first, a tribute to John O'Connor who, over the last 45 years has been at the centre of wind band development in Cork; second, a homage to Gustav Holst who was the first to inspire others to compose original works for military wind band; and, third, the art of transcription.
