- **Event Description**: Join us for our annual OAKtober Planting Party! During the special event, you’ll work with District staff and volunteers to reforest the heart of Coral Woods Conservation Area, as part of the District’s long-term efforts to restore “Big Woods” that once covered a third of our county in oak woodlands. Plan to hike a short distance off-trail to the planting site, where you will learn why this work is important and how to plant tree seedlings. Bring work gloves if you have them.

The site of this restoration project is accessible to all, including parking, trailhead, restrooms and a crushed gravel path. An accessible planting area will be available with an acorn planting activity.

This is a free, all-ages, drop-in program. Registration not required.
