We started our operations around June 1993 with the initial objectives of restoring Mackin House and turning it into a heritage house museum. We've been open as a museum to the public ever since.Today, CHS offers numerous services to Coquitlam’s residents including hosting exhibits in Mackin House and surrounding community partners, offering seasonal tours of the Fraser Mills Train Station (the original method of immigration into Coquitlam!) and a 1970s Train Caboose in Heritage Square, and regularly hosting workshops and community events.Our collection includes local artifacts of importance as well as the oral histories of community members, making our collection an evolving mosaic that reflects our city."
