If you have ever wanted to try a 100 K event but have been intimidated by the elevation, technicality or cut-off times of existing races, or have been hesitant due to the expense and hassle  of travelling, here is your chance.
(Or even if you have done other 100k events, this gives you a chance to add another one without having to sign up and pay large entry fees.)

This event is designed to be more runnable with less elevation and technicality so that anyone who would like to attempt a first 100 will be able to finish, most likely in under 24 hours. 
You don't need to do the full 100k. You can choose as many or as few loops as you can manage. Four loops will give you a 50-miler, or feel free to do 20, 40 or 60; or just start and see how far you can go!

It will be 5X a 20K loop, and you will return to the start location and your car between each loop so that you can replenish your water and fuel, grab your headlamp or take rest breaks and meet up with family/crew. 

The route will be mostly along the Coquitlam River gravel trail with some pavement, and will go through 3 Parks with washrooms and other amenities (though these will be closed overnight). The trails will be close to civilization and fairly well-used, so that participants don't feel they are running technical trails in the wilderness on the overnight loop(s).

The official start time is 6:30 AM Saturday and it wraps at 6:30 AM Sunday, but feel free to turn up at any time during the event.

The start location is Coquitlam Town Centre Park, uppermost lot at the corner of Pinetree and David, (just above Lafarge Lake and the Lafarge/Douglas Skytrain Station, so it is transit-friendly).

I will be there hosting but intend to run most of the first loop and plan to make myself available for anyone who would like company for an overnight loop.  (I will also provide some beverages for finishers and coffee in the very early AM Sunday if there are any runners still left.)

I have posted the Strava route, so please download it to your device. I may put up some minimal flagging; but as these are very popular trails I can't guarantee it will remain in place.
