Join us for an afternoon of sketching at Mackin House Museum, one of Coquitlam’s oldest homes, built in 1909 for the sales manager of Fraser Mills. This beautifully preserved heritage home offers a glimpse into the history of Maillardville, Western Canada’s largest French-speaking community, with a fascinating collection of furnishings and artifacts from the 1930s.

We’ll meet at Opus Art Supplies before taking a short 10-minute walk together to the museum. Whether you enjoy architectural sketching, interiors, or historical details, there will be plenty of inspiration both inside and around the museum grounds.

Sketch subjects include:

☔ WEATHER NOTE
Indoor and outdoor sketching options are available, making this a great meetup rain or shine.

♿ Accessibility
The museum is two storeys, with a washroom located just inside the entrance. The caboose and historic railway office in the yard are also open for sketching.

A $5 donation is recommended for entry into the museum.

- Drawing tools (pens, pencils, markers, etc.)
- Optional: portable stool (folding chairs are available upon request)
Please note: Food and drinks are not permitted inside the museum.

We’ll walk back to Opus Art Supplies at 3:30 PM to share sketches and try out some fun art materials.
