- **Event Description**: We will spend much of the day at the reservoir and adjacent Layer de la Haye causeway looking for some of our rarer ducks and grebes. In the afternoon we will move to Layer Breton causeway which is the best location to see any lingering Smew, Bittern and Goosander.

Facilities: Visitor centre, hides, toilets, cafe, shop, picnic area
Distances and accessibility: Compact site with mainly good paths but muddy in places. Option to walk to the elevated Layer de la Haye Causeway for additional views. Electric buggy available at visitor centre.
Afternoon at Layer Breton causeway: all concrete and tarmac surfaces parallel to the layby and road.

Admission charges: EWT members free (bring your membership card). Non-members: £2.

Coach pick ups: Hitchin: 7.30am. Letchworth: 7.45am. Stevenage: 8.00am.
Comfort breaks: We expect to have a short break on both the outward and return journeys.
A joint trip with Stevenage RSPB Local Group

All welcome! No need to be a member of RSPB or our Local Group.
Coach fee: £30. Coach fares payable in advance - preferably at least 2 weeks beforehand - through Malcolm. Call him (leave a message if there's no answer) or speak to him at one of our Indoor Meetings.
