- **Event Description**: Following some of the largest protests in the history of the Islamic Republic, and less than a year after the 12 day war ended, Israel and America have once again launched a war on Iran plunging the country into a renewed chaos. Iran's retaliatory attacks targeting Israel as well as American bases in GCC countries, spark concerns of what implications the war might entail for the rest of the region. With no sign of the conflict de-escalating and with both parties further away from the negotiation table than ever, it appears that it might drag out. Despite the talk of regime change amongst both Israeli and American administrations, it seems that there are no clear objectives as to how this may be achieved. 

Today, Iran and Middle Eastern scholar at The University of Copenhagen, Professor Rasmus Elling, will help us understand how the current situation is unfolding on the ground in Iran. 

This will be followed by a panel discussion about the broader regional implications and geopolitical consequences that a new war in the middle east might bring about.
