Pure Mettle is an electroacoustic performance with a self-forged suit of steel armour and aluminium cast instruments. Reconstructing coherent narratives means bending attention against the grain of available material, history retrieval exhausts its undertaker. Metal rather bows momentarily to the spirit of persistence, and its smith rings steel long beyond the anvil, after any upper-class knight.

Bahir Zaf is a live improvised piece informed by land-based epistemologies that explores sound and music-making as extended methods of relating, remembrance, and repair. Performed by Sophia Mitiku (piano, synth, vocals), Livia Shweizer (flute), Iida-Vilhelmiina Sinivalo (cello), and Amanda Blomqvist (percussion), the piece unfolds through an open improvisational process. Each performer responds to the shifting relationships between sound, text, and gesture, creating an evolving sonic landscape shaped by the unique conditions of the live encounter.

Ny Bastion is 100% volunteer-run and non-profit, huge thanks to our volunteers! We ask all guests to look after one another, as well as the building and its surroundings, including neighbours and nature.
