ilinx
ilinx er kendt for deres inderlige korværker og performances, hvor der både er plads til skrøbelighed og popstjerneparafraser. Bag vokalgruppen er de tre komponister og sangere Anna Maehl, Laura Marie Madsen og Amanda Appel. Ved at forene deres musikalske baggrund og interesser, som spænder fra klassisk musik til folk, r&b og eksperimenterende elektronisk musik, såvel som deres deres fortællinger, skaber ilinx en lyd der er nyskabende såvel som traditionel – som “bimlende talebeskeder, der er rejst fra middelalderen og fra fremtiden”, som musikmagasinet Seismograf formulerede det i deres anmeldelse af debutalbummet ‘Memory’. Kraftfulde, blide, skurrende, skrigende. Alt det kan stemmerne hos ilinx være, når de udforsker stemmen som primært kompositorisk materialer og skaber betagende lyduniverser i samklang denne aften på ALICE. 

Tarta Relena
De synger spansk, catalansk, græsk, italiensk, latin, engelsk og ladino, der bliver talt af jøder med spanske rødder. Marta Torrella og Helena Ros, musikerne bag den catalanske duo Tarta Relena, forener folklore fra middelhavsregionen med eksperimenterende, elektroniske produktioner. I deres flerstemmige korarrangementer trækker de på flamencoen, georgiske klagesange og mystikeren Hildegard von Bingen. Med stemmerne i fokus skaber duoen en dragende lyd, hvor tidslinjer, sprogområder og mytologier kolliderer. Ord bliver brugt som materiale; gentaget, moduleret, taget ud og sågar sunget baglæns.

“This is music of primal essence and unnameable longing, full of frequencies that seem to tap an ancient ache in one’s bones”, har Pitchfork skrevet om vokalduoen. De er aktuelle med det stærke album ‘És pregunta’, som udkom på det franske label Latency i oktober 2024. Tarta Relena har tidligere spillet på store festivaler såsom Sonar, Le Guess Who, Mutek og Primavera. Vi ser frem til en aften med stort nærvær og intensitet, når den eksperimenterende folkduo kommer til ALICEs scene!

They bring folk traditions into the present: The mesmerizing Catalan vocal duo Tarta Relena draws on flamenco, Georgian laments, and the mysticism of Hildegard von Bingen, blending these influences with electronic experimentation. ilinx
ilinx is known for their heartfelt choral works and performances, where there is room for both vulnerability and pop star paraphrases. Behind the vocal group are the three composers and singers Anna Maehl, Laura Marie Madsen, and Amanda Appel. By merging their musical backgrounds and influences—ranging from classical music to folk, R&B, and experimental electronic music—as well as their personal narratives, ilinx creates a sound that is both innovative and traditional. As music magazine Seismograf described their debut album Memory, it’s like “chiming voice messages that have traveled from the Middle Ages and the future.” Powerful, gentle, abrasive, piercing — the voices of ilinx can be all of this as they explore the voice as a primary compositional material, crafting mesmerizing sonic landscapes in harmony this evening at ALICE.

Tarta Relena
They sing in Spanish, Catalan, Greek, Italian, Latin, English, and Ladino—the language of Jews with Spanish roots. Marta Torrella and Helena Ros, the musicians behind Tarta Relena, merge Mediterranean folklore with experimental electronic productions. Their polyphonic choral arrangements incorporate elements of flamenco, Georgian laments, and Hildegard von Bingen’s mystical compositions. With their voices at the forefront, the duo creates an immersive sound where timelines, languages, and mythologies collide. Words become raw material as they are repeated, modulated, deconstructed, and even sung in reverse.
