Udforsk kunsten og SMK i anderledes rammer!

MELODI GHAZAL + REPUBLIQUE/REVOLVER & CASPAR ERIC + ART TALKS + ANOTHER LIFE + MINO DANMARK + KREATIVE VÆRKSTEDER + FILM + MASSER AF KUNST OG MEGET, MEGET MERE. ALT SAMMEN GANSKE GRATIS.

SMK Fridays: The art of change

Explore the art and SMK in new and informal ways!

MELODI GHAZAL + REPUBLIQUE/REVOLVER & CASPAR ERIC + ART TALKS + ANOTHER LIFE + MINO DANMARK + CREATIVE WORKSHOPS + FILM + LOTS OF ART – AND MUCH, MUCH MORE. ALL COMPLETELY FREE.

Join us as we open the doors to the popular art event SMK Fridays – an evening filled with surprising art experiences, music, cold drinks, food and free admission. This edition focuses on the social potential of art – how art can help create new connections, communities, understandings and changes, both for individuals and for society as a whole. Together, we’ll explore the traces society has left in art – and the marks that art has left on society.

Experience, among other things, an excerpt from 'CRIP', the upcoming performance by REPUBLIQUE/REVOLVERS, based on writer Caspar Eric’s powerful disability poetry. Or join us as we turn our attention to art that has stepped down from its pedestal and out into society. Throughout the evening, you can also listen in as young volunteers from Mino Danmark – a non-profit organisation working for equal opportunities – share their personal takes on selected works from the SMK Collection. They’ll explore how traditions and social change have shaped our ideas of masculinity. After night falls, let yourself be enveloped in a poetic soundscape as the Iranian-Danish artist Melodi Ghazal takes to The Scene with a concert celebrating polyphony – in art and in life.

During the evening, you can experience SMK’s exhibitions after hours, unleash your creativity in our workshops, and join sharp-edged art talks. And if you need a break from the art buzz, take a seat at the long tables in the Sculpture Street, where Another Life – an association working for more representation and equal access in Danish music and culture – will be curating a series of DJ sets.

Look forward to an evening offering a vibrant mix of concerts, conversations, performances, creative workshops and art talks – all right in the middle of the art and completely free.
