Join us for a celebration of craft and creativity at the Mikkeller Homebrew Competition 2026 in the original Mikkeller Bar on Viktoriagade.
Whether you're a homebrewer ready to showcase your latest creation or a beer enthusiast, everyone is welcome.

The event kicks off with a casual bottle share in the afternoon (from 15:00 CET), where you can bring and enjoy unique brews with fellow beer lovers. At 18:00 (CET), the official judging event begins, with our beer specialist Dionysios Papagiannis (Dio) and two renowned brewers evaluating the entries to find the most outstanding homebrews.
Schedule:
15:00 (until 18:00) - Bottle Share: Open to all, bring a bottle to share and taste others' creations! We will also put some bottles on the table.
18:00 - Judging Starts: The judges begin their tasting and evaluation.
21:30 - Two Winners Announced: The top 3 brews will be revealed! Depending on the amount of participants this might be later.

Do you dream of hops? Is malt always on your mind? Ready to share your brew with the world? Here’s your chance to pour your beer for an incredible audience at MBCC 2026! We're on the hunt for the top homebrewer in the Mikkeller universe. The competition kicks off at the original Mikkeller Bar in Viktoriagade, where our beer specialist and judge Dio will choose the winning brew together with two other judges.
The Prize
The winner will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to serve their beer at MBCC 2026 (May 22–23) and receive exclusive perks as an official MBCC brewer. Think you have what it takes to compete with the best?
On top of being invited to MBCC 2026 you’ll also get the opportunity to have the recipe made into a commercially home brew kit via the official Homebrew Competition Partner Lallemand Inc
How to Enter
Select one or both categories to compete in:
- Saison – brewed with LalBrew Premium Farmhouse yeast
- Freestyle – create any style you like. Just make it your best brew.
Competition Rules
- You may submit one beer per category, for a maximum of two entries total.
- Label each bottle clearly with the beer’s name, your name or brewery, alcohol percent and contact details so we can reach you if you win.
- It is not a blind tasting, but you’ll only be judged by the taste of the beer, and not your label design. The label is only important in regards to contact information, otherwise we won't be able to differentiate the beers or know which type of beer it is.
- Do not expect feedback on your brew since the judges will taste +50 beers on the same night.
