Lua de Santana er en multidisciplinær kunstner med base i Madrid, der på kort tid har markeret sig som en af de mest spændende nye stemmer på den globale scene. Med en baggrund i både Bahia og Vigo og en uddannelse fra London i vokal, sangskrivning og musikbusiness, forener hun en stærk afro-latinsk identitet med en  genreopløsende tilgang. Hendes anmelderroste EP “GINGA” blev fremhævet af Pitchfork, som sammenlignede hendes grænsesøgende lydunivers med kunstnere som Arca og Björk, og roste hendes evne til at skubbe til lytterens forventninger. Samtidig trækker hun på ikoniske inspirationer som Nina Simone, Aaliyah og Beyoncé, hvilket giver hendes musik en både tidløs og hypermoderne klang.

Her music moves effortlessly between the raw and the sensual, drawing on references from ballroom and techno to flamenco. We are excited to present this fast-rising artist when she performs at ALICE in May.

Lua de Santana is a multidisciplinary artist based in Madrid, who in a short time has established herself as one of the most exciting new voices on the global scene. With a background in both Bahia and Vigo and an education from London in vocal technique, songwriting and music business, she combines a strong Afro-Latin identity with a fearless, genre-defying approach. Her critically acclaimed EP GINGA was highlighted by Pitchfork, which compared her boundary-pushing sonic universe to artists like Arca and Björk, and praised her ability to challenge and transport the listener.
