- **Event Description**: Together with the Danish Foreign Policy Society and the Free Nations of Postrussia Forum, Ukraine House in Denmark invites you to our third annual forum “Decolonizing Mindsets for Security in Europe”. 

This year's edition will explore Russia’s imperial structure and its implications for European security. As Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine continues, the forum challenges the idea of Russia as an “unbreakable empire,” instead examining it as a post-imperial space shaped by internal colonialism and the denial of self-determination for captive nations. 

Across four panels, speakers will discuss de-imperialisation and the role of culture in sustaining or dismantling imperial narratives. The conversations will also address how Western policies can move toward supporting non-imperial democratic futures and amplifying suppressed voices.

We will be joined, among others, by Claus Mathiesen – an expert on Russia’s relations with the former Soviet republics, Defense Attaché in Ukraine (1999–2007), Žygimantas Pavilionis – a Lithuanian politician, Member of the Seimas, the head of the Interim Group for Liaison with the Captive Nations of Russia, Aida Abdrakhmanova – head of the Tatarstan Independence Committee and Vice President of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations, Akhmed Zakayev - a leading representative of the Chechen independence movement and many more.

Разом із Данським товариством зовнішньої політики та Форумом вільних народів постросії Український дім у Данії запрошує вас на третій щорічний форум “Деколонізація світоглядів для безпеки в Європі”.

Цьогорічна тема присвячена імперській структурі Росії та її впливу на безпеку Європи. У контексті російської повномасштабної війни проти України форум пропонує відійти від уявлення про Росію як “непереможну імперію” та розглянути її як постімперський простір, сформований внутрішнім колоніалізмом і запереченням права на самовизначення для підкорених народів.

У межах чотирьох панелей учасники обговорять деімперіалізацію та роль культури у підтримці або руйнуванні імперських наративів. Також йтиметься про те, як західні політики можуть підтримувати антиімперські демократичні майбутні моделі та підсилювати голоси пригнічених народів.

Серед спікерів – Клаус Матісен, експерт із відносин Росії з пострадянськими країнами та колишній аташе з питань оборони в Україні (1999–2007), Жигімантас Павільоніс, литовський політик і депутат Сейму, голова Тимчасової групи зі зв’язків із підкореними народами Росії, Айда Абдрахманова, очільниця Комітету незалежності Татарстану та віцепрезидентка Антиімперського блоку народів, Ахмед Закаєв, представник чеченського руху за незалежність, та багато інших.
