M. REXEN 

Michael Rexen (f. 1985) er dansk sanger, komponist og performer med rødder i De Forenede Arabiske Emirater. Hans musikalske udtryk forener vestlige og mellemøstlige filosofitraditioner, og hans vokal og tekstunivers har gjort ham til et af de mest særegne navne på den danske scene. Han er uddannet Master of Composition fra Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium og har optrådt på bl.a.Roskilde Festival, SPOT Festival og Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

HOGO FOGO og Studenterhuset går efterhånden way back. Og der er der rigtig gode grunde til. HOGO FOGO har spillet adskillige koncerter på Studenterhuset gennem årene, fordi de forbliver et af de dygtigste og mest spændende bands på jazz/groove scenen. Det er svært at forestille sig et band, der er bedre udstyret til at lave et residency hos os til en enestående og uforglemmelig oplevelse, især suppleret af 4 unikke gæstemusikere.

Vi ser frem til 4 aftener med musikalsk diversitet og tårnhøjt kunstnerisk niveau, i selskab med HOGO FOGO og deres gæster.

Publikum inviteres helt tæt på musikken. Koncerterne foregår i en cirkulær opstilling på gulvet, og publikum kan gå rundt, danse eller sidde og opleve musikken fra flere perspektiver.

Hogo Fogo and Studenterhuset invite you to four late-night concerts (July 8–11) during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, where the band’s music is reimagined each evening in collaboration with a new guest soloist.

M. REXEN

Michael Rexen (b. 1985) is a Danish singer, composer, and performer with roots in the United Arab Emirates. His musical expression unites Western and Middle Eastern philosophical traditions, and his vocal style and lyrical universe have made him one of the most distinctive names on the Danish scene. He holds a Master of Composition from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory and has performed at, among others, Roskilde Festival, SPOT Festival, and Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

HOGO FOGO and Studenterhuset go way back - and for very good reasons. Over the years, HOGO FOGO has played numerous concerts at Studenterhuset, remaining one of the most skilled and exciting bands on the jazz/groove scene. It’s hard to imagine a band better equipped to create a residency with us that becomes a unique and unforgettable experience—especially complemented by four distinctive guest musicians.

We look forward to four evenings of musical diversity and sky-high artistic quality in the company of HOGO FOGO and their guests.

The audience is invited right up close to the music. The concerts take place in a circular floor setup, where the audience can move around, dance, or sit and experience the music from multiple perspectives.
