It is time to get a head start on the holiday season! Kick off the season with creativity and clay in this festive, hands-on ornament-making workshop with Mairi Meehan. This workshop is designed for all skill levels, beginners and experienced makers will learn and create together.

Saturday, July 11: Make It Merry

Learn the magic of slip casting to create classic holiday forms—or let your imagination guide you and handbuild your own ornament in any style you like! Whether it's trees, stars, or sea creatures, the choice is yours. We provide all the tools, forms, and guidance.

Saturday, August 1: Deck the Clay

Return to glaze and decorate your bisque-fired piece using our wide array of studio underglazes. Add sparkle, shine, or traditional charm—your ornament, your style.

About the Instructor:

Mairi Meehan is an environmental scientist and potter from Cherry Valley, who has honed her craft across the globe, teaching and creating pottery in Italy, Canada, Africa, and throughout the USA. While she calls herself a "hobby potter," her creative practice was instrumental in completing her PhD. Mairi brings her unique blend of scientific insight and artistic passion to her classes, fostering a relaxed, enjoyable environment where students can explore the art of pottery in a fun and approachable way.
