90 minutes of deep rest, sound, and stillness.
Step into an intimate, other-worldly experience where yin yoga and live cello weave together to create a space for deep rest and sensory immersion.
In this 90-minute special session, long-held, floor-based yin postures are accompanied by the ethereal, resonant sound of live cello, played intuitively to support a slow, spacious practice. The music doesn’t sit on top of the class — it wraps around it, creating a cocooned atmosphere that gently engages the senses of sound, touch, and inner awareness.
Yin teacher Sal Henderson, one of the most experienced and highly qualified yin teachers on the Sunshine Coast, will guide you through a practice designed to explore stillness, sensation, and release within the body. With Sal’s steady guidance and the cello’s rich, vibrating tones, the practice invites softness, patience, and presence.
Cellist Laura Driver is a cellist, pianist, and composer/arranger whose work spans contemporary music and sound-based wellbeing. She has co-facilitated several yin yoga sessions on the Sunshine Coast with Sal Henderson, offering live cello to accompany slow, contemplative movement. Alongside this work, Laura has performed with artists including Ben Ely (Regurgitator), Rusty Datsuns, Emma & The Hungry Truth, Timothy Carroll (Holy Holy), and Alex Lloyd, and has contributed string arrangements to a range of album releases as well as to the Queensland Music Festival.
