🌿🏛️ Olympia in Bloom: Waldorf-Inspired Pentathlon & Cultural Festival

Join us for a beautiful afternoon of movement, poetry, art, and community at Wondering Woods Farm as Mindful Journey Academy hosts Olympia in Bloom, a Waldorf-inspired Pentathlon and cultural festival rooted in the spirit of the ancient Greek games.

This is not simply a sports event, but a ceremonial and educational gathering where athletics, the arts, and reverence for childhood come together in a meaningful way.

Student athletes (Grades 5 and up) will participate in a professionally guided Pentathlon led by Amazing Athletes, including:
• Discus Throw
• Javelin Throw
• Running Long Jump
• Wrestling (age-appropriate & supervised)
• Foot Race

Athletes will be grouped by age division and will choose a Greek City-State to represent in the opening procession, honoring the classical traditions of courage, grace, and noble sportsmanship.

In the spirit of Ancient Greece, each participating student will also bring a student-written poem and may submit Greek-inspired artwork for our Cultural Gallery Display. Guests will have the opportunity to view the gallery and place voting tickets in jars to support their favorite pieces as part of our fundraiser.

This is a weekend community event, and it is expected that parents/guardians attend with their children.

⏰ Important Arrival Time:
Athletes and families should arrive by 12:35 PM to check in, drop off poetry and artwork submissions, choose a City-State, and meet the coaching team before the ceremony begins promptly at 1:00 PM.

👕 Attire of the Games:
Student athletes are encouraged to wear a simple pillowcase tunic over athletic clothing, reflecting the simplicity and dignity of the ancient games. Modest child-made decorations are welcome.

💵 Admission:

• Student Athlete (Grades 5+): $15
• General Admission (Spectators): $20 per person
• Children 10 and under: Free

Food and crafts will be available for purchase.
This event serves as a fundraiser supporting Mindful Journey Academy’s scholarships, programming, and nature-based education initiatives.

We warmly welcome Waldorf, nature-based, homeschool, and community families to gather in a spirit of beauty, movement, and celebration as we honor the noble traditions of the games together.
