This fun community event will definitely be one filled with a lot of heart and many different types of soles! Whether you are feeling the challenge of a 5K or are more interested in the less serious 1K, ALL are invited to come and enjoy a morning filled with fun, inclusion, and a sprinkle cookie of silliness! Whether you are training for a marathon or just enjoy a good stroll this event is for you! 

The 5k will be timed for those who enjoy a little friendly competition or simply want to see what they can do.  

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come out and join the fun!  (5K = 3.1 miles) and (1K = .62 miles)

5k Check-In: 9:15 to 9:45 a.m.
1K Check-In: 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Waves start rolling out: 10 a.m.

To celebrate our summer camp theme "Waves of Wonder" we will have 4 creative starting waves!  Sign up for the one that feels right for you!

5K: 10am - Grey Whale Wave- This is the wave for those who, much like the Grey Whale will be travelling the farthest! (5K = 3.1 miles)

1K: 10:15 am - Sailfish Wave- The sailfish is the fastest fish in the ocean at 68 mph!  This wave is for our fastest runners and rollers! 

1K: 10:30 am - Clownfish Wave- This wave is for those in costumes who want to have a bit of fun and show off as they make their way to the finish line!

1K: 10:45 am - Sea STAR Wave- YOU are the star!  Walk, Roll, Stroll, Prance, Skip, Gallop...this wave is for everyone!  However you want to get to the finish line, this wave is for you! 

Parties are for everyone right!? 

Whether you participated in the 5k or the 1k or you just came out to cheer everyone on, EVERYONE is welcome at our Finish-line Party! Stick around after the race for a finish-line party which will have a lot of fun activities and things to check out!  If you are hungry after the race, we will have a food truck onsite as well as Alderfire BBQ where you can purchase some yummy BBQ or even try a dirty soda from Fir and Fizz! Check out some awesome local community booths or say hi to some special guests from our Seattle Seahawks! We will also have a Community Art Project hosted by the Museum of Northwest Art, our friends from the Lake McMurray Fire Department will cool you off with a firehose shower, and don't forget to strut your stuff at the Costume Red Carpet Fashion Show!  All this and more!  This is an event you will not want to miss!

Every participant will receive a Heart and Sole Fun Run and Roll medal and sticker!

COSTUMES are highly encouraged!  Individual Costumes! Group Costumes! Inflatable Costumes! You name it, we want to see it!  No theme, just feeling whatever is in your heart and sole for the day! We will have a costume runway show at the finish line so be ready to fend off the paparazzi!

Our hope is that everyone will be able to participate in this event independently, but if your runner or roller needs extra support or help to the finish line, we will have dedicated volunteers to pair with anyone with a need!

We believe that all children should be able to experience both the joys of childhood and the profound, life-changing impact of camp. Every year, thousands of campers and family members gather in a community of people with shared experiences to sing, dance, laugh, grow, and discover their potential in a medically safe and adaptable environment.

Here, campers with 90+ diagnoses can take a true break from being “patients” and rediscover the joy of being a kid.

Don’t want to run or roll with us but still want to support, we have a variety of fundraising side trails you can join in on!  

You live out of town but still want to participate – register as a virtual runner, track and share your run, and you will get a finishers medal to celebrate YOU!
