Or have a pond on your property? For many neighborhoods in Horry and Georgetown counties, stormwater ponds are a familiar feature. In fact, the number of stormwater ponds in the Myrtle Beach area has increased over the past 25 years, from roughly 1,000 ponds in 1994 to over 3,000 today. Despite their prevalence, ponds don’t come with instruction manuals and proper management can seem overwhelmng.Clemson Extension, S.C. Sea Grant Consortium, and North Inlet- Winyah Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve invites HOA/POA representatives, pond owners, and pond managers to increase their knowledge of pond management best practices. Due to strong interest in the Healthy Pond Series, this event is being offered again in partnership with the City of Conway to provide local residents with an additional opportunity to learn about stormwater pond management. Participants will hear from USC's Dr. Erik Smith, engage in an open Q&amp;A, and network with local municipal stormwater professionals and environmental education organizations.* If you attended the April 30th Healthy Pond Series event, this event will feature the same presentaton and content.
