About the book:
In the small Irish town of 1985, a coal merchant, Bill Furlong, confronts a secret at a local convent after discovering a young woman being held there, forcing him to choose between his family's security and his conscience. The novella explores the moral courage required to challenge a community's silence surrounding the cruelty of the Magdalene Laundries.
