For Rex Robards, music is a spiritual journey — one marked by highs and lows, much like his life. His songs are written in truth, crafted with storytelling talent often compared to Tom T. Hall and Jim Croce.
Recently nominated for the Inspirational Country Music Awards “Song of the Year” and “Male Vocalist of the Year”, Robards has earned multiple Top 10 National chart hits in the Christian Country genre and Top 40 Regional releases in Secular Country. He’s also received recognition from the Texas Country Music Association as Christian Country Songwriter of the Year Runner-Up and Honorable Mention for two different songs in the same year.
Once signed to Showtime Records/Nashville, Rex toured the Regional Country Music scene, building a loyal following before taking time to focus on family. Now based in Willis, TX, he created the Music That Matters Concert Series, a platform for artists to share their faith, values, and music. Through this, he’s performed alongside Jeremy Camp, Aaron Watson, Jesse Raub Jr., Bri Bagwell, Brandon Heath, and Building 429, among others.
Today, Rex Robards & The Grateful bring their soulful blend of country and blues to stages across Texas and beyond — connecting hearts through honest, heartfelt music.
