Come for a guided tour of Henry David Thoreau’s birthplace in Concord, MA. Take an inside look at the 1730s house listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Wheeler-Minot Farmhouse/Henry David Thoreau Birth House. Locally, it is also known as “Thoreau Farm.” The tour includes the lovingly restored second-floor (accessible) room where Henry David Thoreau was born in 1817. After the tour we will sit down for a short presentation about the grounds and his life. For lunch we will stop at West Village Tavern in West Concord. There is a suggested $5 donation fee for the tour and don’t forget to bring cash for lunch! Please call to sign up. 978-456-4120
