Middle School Summer Band Camp The Mehlville School District will be offering a Summer Band Camp for any middle school band student who has completed at least one year of band at his/her school. Our Summer Band Camp will be held at The Nottelmann Auditorium on the campus of Mehlville High School (3200 Lemay Ferry Rd) We will have two independent sessions of our Summer Band Camp. Students have the option for signing up for a full-day camp or a half-day camp and may attend one session or both sessions. Each session will cover new literature and material. For the half day students, the morning will be our normal Concert Band Camp, running from 9 AM – 12:30. After the Concert Band Camp, full day campers will have lunch (they must bring their own each day) and recreation/swimming time, followed by enrichment band camp. Enrichment camp time will feature Jazz Band, Color Guard, or Chamber Music, The day will end at 4:30 PM. . There will be Before-Camp Lessons and After-Camp Private Lessons available for an additional fee. The daily camp schedule will include sectionals, full band rehearsal, and snack time. Our musical focus for the camp will include tone production, rhythmic precision, technique, and musical expression. While working on those musical characteristics, we meet new student musicians and have a great time! At the end of each session, students will present a concert for family and friends. Each Session has new music covered, so students are encouraged to attend both, if they can. Teachers: Mehlville School District Band Directors, as well as MHS and OHS Alumni Session 1: July 13 - 16 Concert Band Camp: 9 – 12:30, Band Enrichment: 12:30 – 4:30 Session 2: July 27 - 30 Concert Band Camp: 9:00 – 12:30, Band Enrichment: 12:30 – 4:30 Cost of 1 Concert Band Session = $125. Cost of 1 Full Day Session = $200. Cost of Both Concert Band Sessions = $200 Cost of Both Full Day Sessions = $350 Cost includes all music, a Band Camp t-shirt and a daily snack.
