If you like dark fairy tales, gruesome horror, and novels about loss of innocence, then join us as Jonathan Edward Durham presents Winterset Hollow in conversation with Emily C. Hughes (Horror for Weenies)!

The perfectly twisted word-of-mouth horror phenomenon that set the internet on fire.

When Eamon and his two closest friends, Caroline and Mark, journey to Addington Isle, they hope to explore the island that inspired their favorite book, Winterset Hollow—a timeless tale about a tribe of animals preparing for their yearly end-of-summer festival. But when the trio break into the author’s apparently abandoned estate, they discover that much of what the world believes to be fantasy is real, and that the truth behind their beloved story is darker and more dangerous than they ever imagined. In fact, making it through the final chapter might just cost them everything.

How do you celebrate Barley Day? You run, friend. You run.

This edition features the complete version of the book within the book, Winterset Hollow, as written by Edward Addington!

"WOW WOW WOW what a book.

"Imagine you find out that your favorite childhood story is real and you get to meet and feast with your comfort characters in real life!

"...And then they turn on you.

"Winterset Hollow is a horrific fairy tale. It is the devastation of growing up. It's the horrors of the loss of innocence. It's the absolute terror of meeting your heroes. It's whimsy gone dark. It's comfort gone sour. Winterset Hollow is gorgeous and disastrous and perfect." --Bookseller Ryan, Gibson's Bookstore

Jonathan Edward Durham was born in Eastern Pennsylvania where he read voraciously through his youth and beyond. He studied literature at William and Mary while pursuing a degree in neuroscience, and now writes to bridge the wonder of his favorite childhood books with the pop sensibilities of the classic thrillers he grew up with. He still lives in the Lehigh Valley with his husband and a house full of animals.

Emily C. Hughes (she/her) is the Bram Stoker Award®-winning author of Horror For Weenies: Everything You Need to Know About the Films You’re Too Scared to Watch and the co-founder of Darker Times, a worker-owned magazine about horror and culture. You can find her writing elsewhere in the New York Times Book Review, Vulture, Slate, Reactor Magazine, Electric Literature, Nightmare Magazine, Thrillist, and more. Emily lives in crunchy western Massachusetts with her husband and four idiot cats.
