Jazz Sanctuary, like it's sponsoring organization, First Congregational Church, UCC, has for some time now been using the wisdom and insight from a book by Irish poet and author, the late John O'Donahue, "The Invisible Embrace of Beauty," to guide our liturgies - the name for the structure that houses and shapes our gatherings. This Sunday, September 21, at 2:30 PM at our church at 79 Clinton St. in Concord, John O'Donahue leads us to be inspired by the depths of beauty contained in the color green.
"Green, Growth, and Including All," as a theme is inspiring Vocalist and Pastor Emilia Halstead, Rev. Renee' Rouse and our Jazz Sanctuary House Band to work up songs like "True Colors" and "Green Onions," and the creative force of God's green creation on planet earth reminds us that, in the words of spiritual writer, Rich Rohr, "everything belongs!" As we consider this latter truth, we welcome Lisa Beaudoin, Executive Director of the NH Council of Churches, who will be our Conversational Guest as we talk about "ableism and belonging."
As always, there is no admission fee, the music and sense of community are awesome, and, with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, IT WILL BE FUN!!! Wherever you are and because of who you are on your life's journey, you are welcome here!!
