- **Event Description**: This Sunday, January 18th at 2PM the Blues will host the Outer Cove Marines in this years Sammy's Superhero Game! This year marks the 4th annual Sammy’s Superhero Game, proudly hosted by the Baker Flooring Senior Blues in support of the Sammy’s Climb Higher Foundation.

The Blues are extremely proud to announce they have dedicated this years game to the memory of J.D. Trainor, a fierce hockey competitor and an outstanding young man taken from us far too soon. We are so proud that his family has allowed us the opportunity to remember and honor him this year.

While J.D. is remembered for the incredibly humble, considerate, selfless, and truly kind young man he was, it’s impossible to think of J.D. without also thinking about him as a hockey player. J.D. was deeply passionate about the game, and the Blues are honored to dedicate this game to such an amazing person who embodied everything hockey is about; heart, character, and love for the game.
Prior to puck drop, the annual Real Life Superhero Awards will be presented on behalf of the Trainor family. We encourage family, friends, teammates, and community members to join us as we honor just a few of the incredible people who have been there for J.D. and his family. 

The Blues are once again offering FREE admission for youth, and 100% of proceeds from the game will be donated to Sammy’s Climb Higher Foundation including all revenue from admission tickets, 50/50 sales, and our Tim Hortons Charity Chuck-A-Puck for that game.

Following the game, the Blues will also host an online game-worn jersey auction, with all funds raised added to the donation total. Last year, the Blues set a new high by donating over $15,000, bringing the three-year total to nearly $40,000.

The game is this Sunday, January 18th at 2:00PM at the Town of Conception Bay South arena, when the Blues will host the Marines!
