- **Event Description**: This three week restorative yoga series is specifically designed to address the intersectional stress Black women face on a daily basis.About this EventRest, Restore Resist, is a three week restorative yoga series that has been curated for Black Women by Dr. Ashley A. Hicks (RYT200 and licensed therapist)This series begins on Wednesday August 5th and continues though August 19th weekly from 6:30pm - 8pm ET. Join us in a small and intimate setting and experience the healing benefits of restorative yoga. Each session will last for 75 minutes and include supportive physical postures, breathwork, meditation, and reiki (optional). All yoga mats and props will be provied.This series creates a space for Black women to rest in community and provides an opportunity for us to address the unique intersectional stressors we face on a daily basis. This workshop is influenced by the work of Rest Is Resistance by Tricia Hersey and Restorative Yoga for Ethnic and Race-Based Stress and Trauma by Dr. Gail Parker.Payment is based on a pay what you can scale to make this work accessible to as many women as possible.Payment options1) Receive - $30 for the full series ( $10/class)2) Contribute - $45 for the full series ($15/class)3) Sustain - $60 for the full series ($20/class)This workshop is a part of Ashley's 300-hour yoga practicum required to achieve an RYT-500 certification.Join us as we rest.
