Her path eventually led her through community college studies, service in the U.S. Navy performing with the Navy band Pride and time in New York’s songwriting community before returning to Texas to focus on her own voice as a recording artist. Over time, she built a celebrated career marked by acclaimed albums, GRAMMY® nominations, and a recent GRAMMY® win for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

Enjoy free live music on select evenings this summer at the Scioto Mile Concert Series, presented by Columbus Recreation and Parks. Each show takes place at Bicentennial Park along the Scioto Mile, with performances starting at 7 p.m., plus food trucks and a bar will be available. This concert is produced in partnership with the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA).
