- **Event Description**: Magnolia Hill is home to diverse stories of past residents, including Kenzie Hardy, a domestic slave, and Lee Meriwether, a prominent Civil War historian born here during the conflict, who may have known Kenzie. The property also claims Col. Joe Duckworth, the pioneering aviator who was the first to fly through the eye of a hurricane, as one of its notable figures.

We owe gratitude to the Strong family for preserving Kenzie Hardy's lineage, detailing her origins, life on and off the property, and descendants. Special thanks are extended to Rufus Ward for his thorough research.
