Bring your machine and current project to work on or supplies to work on a seasonal group project (see below for this month's project). Feel free to come for the whole time or part of the time. The meeting is free.

Special thanks to Harmon Park for allowing us to use the clubhouse. Contact them at 205/470-7722 for information about clubhouse rentals for birthdays, weddings, and other events. It's a lovely venue.

NOTE - Waze sends you to the wrong location! The street address is 315 Hwy 47 S., Columbiana, AL 35051. It is the clubhouse for the old Magnolia Meadows Golf Course, just past the cemetery, heading out of town on 47. Photo in the event discussion.

Sewing Lessons:
We'll have a couple of machines available to teach beginners the basics of sewing if you don't have your own machine yet. If you want to learn to sew and have your own machine, please bring it with needle and bobbin for that machine (and the owner's manual/booklet if available).

Fabric swap:
Bring clean, usable scraps and/or fabric yardage you'd like to swap (not sell). It's a great way to find new fabrics for small projects and for quilting. We had two large round tables full of fabric to trade last meeting. That's right, free fabric.

Seasonal group project: Tote Bags
There are many ways to make tote bags and we'll supply several patterns (see group discussion) or are happy to help you with any pattern you bring.

Exact fabric and supplies vary by tote bag variation, but you'll need fabric pieces a couple of inches larger than you want the tote bag to be for lining and the outer part of the bag, material for straps, any hardware (like zippers), and interfacing if you want to add structure to your bag.

Regular quilting/woven fabric is fine and duck cloth makes a great option for outer fabrics as well.

I'll have limited amounts of D rings for connecting straps, rope for rope handles, assorted zippers, extra thread, and a small amount of interfacing on hand. And as always, the fabric swap fabrics will be available. I'll also bring an iron and pressing mat.
