Gordon Belser Arboretum since 2017.Order from All Good Books hereABOUT THE BOOKFor our second meeting of the fall semester, we'll take up the environmentalist classic Walden (1854), Henry David Thoreau's imaginative reconstruction of two years spent in a cabin outside of Concord, Massachusetts. Arboretum manager Hollis Beach will facilitate a discussion of the genre-defying work and Thoreau's thoughts and experiences as he seeks to "simplify, simplify, simplify" while living alone in the woods.---We'll have snacks and beverages, and you're welcome to bring your own.Note that trails are natural and hilly.A portable restroom is available.Please leave pets at home.
