Third Thursday Art Night: Patrick Parise

As a member of the Vista Guild, the Koger Center for the Arts partnered with The Jasper Project to open a new rotating art space, titled The Nook, in celebration of Third Thursday Art Night. September 2026’s featured artist in The Nook is Patrick Parise. Join us for a free opening reception on September 17, 2026, from 5:30 - 7 p.m.!

Artist Biography
Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1952, Patrick Parise has lived and worked in Columbia, SC for more than five decades. Influenced early by his mother, a painter and art historian, Parise studied painting at Bethany College and printmaking under Boyd Saunders at the University of South Carolina. He went on to establish his own etching studio and later expanded into painting, sculpture, mixed media, and custom design work.

Parise’s accomplishments include solo exhibitions at Columbia galleries such as Vista Studios, City Art Gallery, and Stormwater Studios, as well as international recognition through the Saatchi Gallery’s Your Studio Competition. His work has been commissioned for both private and public projects across South Carolina, including gifts for foreign dignitaries and large-scale installations.
