The Lowrie Center PD Institute
Presented by the Lowrie Center at Columbia International University, the PD Institute is a modified two day (July 22-23) version of the Center's summer IICSE for Christian School Educators. Three tracks are featured which include a Foundations track designed to focus on the purpose, mission, and instructional strategies related to Christian school education. This track is open to all but specifically desiged to introduce new personnel to Christian school philosophy and practices. The Forward Track offers instructional strategies and approaches to move student learning forward or broaden the skills of an experienced teacher or administrator, and the Full Day track provides an opportunity to focus on one topic throughout the day. This track features a study of Ephesians and provides a CEU in Bible. Participants can register for both days or if desired register with a single day ticket. Chris Browne:Managing partner of the Engaged Schools Initiative which is a ministry of Wheaton Press. The Engaged Schools Initiative exists to train teachers to equip students to reflect Christ in their circles of influence ten years after they graduate. Chris has been a pastor, Bible department head and adjunct professor at Moody Bible Institute and Trinity International Univeristy. With a background in instructional design, organizational leadership and analytical metrics, Chris authored the Global Student Assessment which is currently the largest and longest ongoing study of Christian School students. Chris will open each day with a focus on Rethinking Worldview, Mission, Integration and Discipleship.
