Ridge View High School Career Day 2019
Ridge View High School is hosting its annual career day.
The career day will be set up in seminar fashion. Each professional will be asked to present two 45-minute sessions regarding their career. The number of participants will be capped at twenty-five per seminar so you can prepare to see a total of 50 students.
On April 10, 2019, we ask that you share a day in your professional life. Explain what a typical day is like for you. We want our students to get a realistic view of the careers in which they are interested. It is very important that you also share things about your career that you find challenging. Our goal is to prepare our young people for the real world and making them aware that there are obstacles that they will have to overcome in order to be successful is an important part of that preparation.
Please inform our students of the education and training they would need in order to perform your job tasks. It would be helpful if you could mention courses that they could take in high school to assist them in preparing. Share with them information regarding the work environment (inside, outside, office etiquette, heat, cold, etc.), soft skills needed (being dependable, punctual, flexible, team-oriented, etc.), and salary potential. Facilitating an interactive activity is recommended.
Additional information will be forthcoming closer to the date of the event.
