- **Event Name**: Nonviolent Communication
- **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 04 Mar, 2026 at 09:30 am – Wed, 04 Mar, 2026 at 04:00 pm
- **Event Description**: And as we lead up to The People's Conference III, join us as we host past conference presenters and keynote speakers.About this EventUnfortunately, many of us have been conditioned to compete, judge, demand and diagnose; and to think and communicate in terms of what is “right“ and “wrong“ with others. At best, the habitual ways we think and speak hinder communication and create misunderstanding and frustration. At their worst, these habits can cause anger and pain, and may lead to conflict. Without wanting to, even people with the best of intentions generate needless conflict. The purpose of nonviolent communication (NVC) is to create a quality of connection within and between people, where everyone’s needs matter and we work together to meet those needs. We learn to develop a vocabulary of feelings and needs that helps us more clearly express what is going on within us, and understand what is going on within others, at any given moment. When we understand and acknowledge our needs, we develop a shared foundation for much more satisfying relationships. In this one-day workshop, participants will explore the foundational principles and components of the NVC model and practice using them to cultivate empathy (for themselves and others) and honest expression. This event is in person with limited seating. Please only register if you can attend the entire time.
