As Sophia navigates the freezing temperatures and the realization that her celebrity status is useless in a city that barely has electricity, the play transforms her ordeal into a dark comedy about the bizarre intersections of global culture, proving that if you’re going to be held for ransom in a Siberian port, you might as well have a flair for the dramatic.  And to add to the absurdity?  Sophia's story is loosely based on a real-life Mexican soap opera star's visit to Russia.  (We can't make this stuff up.)
