- **Event Description**: Hosted by the North Columbia Youth Empowerment Initiative in partnership with the Booker Washington Heights Neighborhood Association, we invite all to walk alongside our North Columbia neighbors as they take action to promote peace and safety. 

The January 26th walk begins at 2PM at the All Star Baseball Field located behind North Pointe Estates at 4219 Lester Drive. Presentations begin at 2:30 and include local voices, including Booker Washington Heights Neighborhood Association President Regina E. Williams, as well as words of support from Mayor Steve Benjamin, Chief Holbrook and Sheriff Lott. We will then walk to the Katheryn Bellfield BWH Cultural Arts Center located at 2611 Grant St, stopping to speak words of peace and prayer along the way.

This event is open to the public. For over a year, there has been a focused community-driven effort to promote safety in the 29203 zip-code. Heartbroken by the violence that emerged over the holiday season, our North Columbia partners are taking positive proactive action to call for peace and ask all to join them in their movement for change.

This event is supported by Serve & Connect, City of Columbia, Columbia Police Department, and Richland County Sheriff's Department.
