AVP Alternatives to Violence Project - Advanced Community Workshop February 22-24 2019
Creating a Culture of Peace
The Advanced (Level 2) AVP Workshop focuses on the underlying causes of violence, both in ourselves and in the world around us, such as fear, anger, stereotyping and power. In this fun, interactive workshop we explore deeper ways to resolve conflicts, including assertiveness and forgiveness. People who’ve taken the training report they have connected deeply with others, laughed, shared, listened. They’ve experienced increased trust and self-esteem and learned ways to reduce conflict in their world—whether classroom, family, work, or community.
The workshop is open to anyone who has completed an AVP Basic workshop.
This three-day workshop develops the concepts, principles and tools of nonviolent conflict resolution and Transforming Power introduced in the Basic workshop. Participants who complete this workshop qualify for the next level workshop, where you can train to be an AVP facilitator and bring these skills to your own community or workplace.
