ARC Reflections Trauma Academy (Richland)
This is a great training for any and all that work with children who have experienced trauma. (Foster Parents, Case Workers, GAL's, Kindship Care givers, etc...)

(A graduation will be held for those who attend all 4 semester of the Academy)
ARC Reflections provides caregivers with tools and hands-on training to help children and teens build healthy attachments with adults, regulate their emotions and behavior and build strengths and competencies that may have been disrupted by exposure to trauma. (www.aecf.org)
Semester 1 - Understanding Trauma - This session is focused on the foster parents and giving them a better understanding of trauma and how trauma effects the child's attitudes, reactions and behaviors.
Semester 2 - Cultivate Connection - This session is focused on Building relationships with the children in your home through communication, modeling and being able to correctly read body cues.
Semester 3 - Calm, Cool, Connected - This session is focused on the process of learning to regulate - the way we learn how to manage or control our thoughts, emotions and energy. Creating a tool box of skills.
Semester 4 - Respond, Don't React - This session is focused on being proactive and creating strategies to be more effective in responses to kids behaviors.
