With a focus on his native script, Sinhala, Kosala’s practice spans typeface design, typographic research, and multiscript editorial design. He is guided by a commitment to bridging communication gaps among Sri Lanka’s official languages.The tour will conclude with a demonstration of the antique Albion Press by Sajaan Peiris, curator of the W A Silva Museum and restorer of the Albion Press currently on display at Akurugraphy. The Albion Press is an early iron hand letterpress originally designed and manufactured in London. Letterpress printing on machines such as the Albion was the dominant industrial printing technique worldwide until the late 1970s.‘Akurugraphy’ is supported by generous grants from Kohler India, the Initiating Partner for the Geoffrey Bawa Trust’s exhibitions programme, and Sampath Bank Private Banking for the exhibition’s public programme.Parking: Please be aware that parking is not available at the venue. Visitors are advised to use ride-sharing services or arrange drop-off and collection.Accessibility: The Bawa Space main entrance has step-free access and wide doorways.
