The Gustav Mahler Orchestra of Colombo joins forces with Sri Lankan pop sensation WAYO to deliver a musical experience you simply cannot find anywhere else in Sri Lanka.

All arrangements are masterfully written by our Concertmaster Darshana Amarasinghe, adding new depth and beauty to songs you already love, and the concert is conducted by our Chief Conductor Maestro Srimal Weerasinghe, bringing you a powerful, world-class symphonic performance.

Mathaka Thanu is one of the most popular concert productions ever presented by the orchestra, bringing timeless Sri Lankan pop songs to life through the power, colour, and emotion of a full Western classical orchestra.

Whether you come for nostalgia, for modern hits, or for world-class orchestral excellence, this concert delivers it all.

The first Mathaka Thanu concert in 2024 was met with overwhelming audience demand. After a long wait, we proudly present the next chapter. This time, bigger, grander, and featuring WAYO live with the orchestra.
