Seit ihrem Durchbruch im Jahr 2016 ist Åsa Söderqvists Lo-Fi-Rock-Projekt ShitKid einer der faszinierendsten Acts Schwedens, der stets Erwartungen unterläuft und Konventionen bricht, während er von Medien wie The FADER, i-D, NPR, The Line of Best Fit und vielen anderen gelobt wird. Nachdem ShitKid im Frühjahr 2016 mit der Debütsingle „Oh Please Be A Cocky Cool Kid“ erstmals in Erscheinung getreten war, veröffentlichte sie eine Reihe von Alben und EPs, darunter das Kultklassiker-Debütalbum „Fish“, die Durchbruch-EP „This Is It“ und die in Zusammenarbeit mit den Melvins entstandene EP Limbo/„Mellan himmel å helvete“, und gewann dabei Fans wie Iggy Pop, Billie Joe Armstrong von Green Day und Fever Ray. Auftritte bei Festivals wie Roskilde, SXSW, The Great Escape und Way Out West folgten, ebenso wie Tourtermine rund um die Welt und Auftritte als Vorband von Bands wie den Melvins. Im Jahr 2020 beendete sie das Projekt abrupt und zog sich vollständig aus der Musikszene zurück. 2026 ist ShitKid nun zurück. Nach einem schnell ausverkauften Konzert in Berlin im März kommt sie im Juni nach Köln, Berlin und Hamburg.
