- **Event Description**: Over the past 25 years, the artist Gunter Demnig has installed almost 3000 »Stolpersteine« in Cologne to commemorate victims of the Nazi persecution in front of their last voluntarily chosen places of residence. Many of these small memorial plaques on the pavement were initiated by descendants of Jewish families from Cologne, who want their ancestors to be remembered at their former homes.
The panel discussion will bring together descendants who recently had stones installed for family members, sponsors of stones and those responsible for organising the installation to share the family’s history behind the stones and discuss their relevance for both relatives and public remembrance.
