The free class for ages 6 and older, presented in partnership with Texas Parks & Wildlife, covers fishing knots, casting, freshwater fish identification and more. All equipment, bait and educational materials are provided.

Optional catch-and-release fishing is available at Stephen C. Beachy Central Park; no license is required. Children younger than 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Bring water, snacks and lunch, and dress to be outdoors about half the time.

Spots are limited, and registration is required by the Friday before each class.
