What: SoCal AFI Eastern Sierra Bear Camp
Where: Mono County (X12 hunting zone) — exact location will be provided to selected participants
When: Friday, October 3-5, 2025
Join fellow members of the military community to learn about and hunt black bear within the beautiful Eastern Sierras. The exact location will be provided to the selected participants.
Know that this is not a guided hunt. We have partnered with Ned Weidner of Walker School of the Wild. He is a local guide and expert who will share his knowledge and brief hunters on the area before they head out into the field to hunt.
Space is limited. Not only must you RSVP, but also complete the application sent to the registered email address. Applicants will be notified no later than mid-September if they’ve been selected.
What you will need:
-hunting license & bear tag
-rifle/ammo or bow/arrows
-hunting pack
-optics (binos/scope/range finder)
-headlamp
-camping gear (we will be disbursed camping)
-field dressing/processing kit
-snacks
Recommended:
-shooting stick
-cold weather/rain gear

For those that enjoy fishing, feel free to bring your rod (and fishing license)
