A Selmer-endorsed, award-winning saxophonist and composer with one of the most distinctive voices on the UK jazz scene, she is noted for her captivating sense of melody, lyrical tone and the emotional honesty that runs through every performance. Hannah's music combines modern jazz, soul, and folk genres, merging sophistication, tenderness, and accessibility. She is known for her forceful rhythms, distinct tone, and strong story sense. Both critics and listeners laud her ability to combine groove, space, and melody to create something very personal and irresistibly appealing. Hannah's 2021 release, Inside Out, earned her a Parliamentary Jazz Award nomination for Best Newcomer and confirmed her as a major new voice in British jazz. Hannah's fourth album, Stories on the Wind, showcases her most expressive and inventive side. Each track has its own narrative, carried on a breeze of baritone depth, tenor lyricism and fearless musical interplay. As a bandleader, Hannah draws on over 15 years' collaboration with her dynamic quartet, whose instinctive synergy and improvisational energy define her sound. Hannah’s artistry is driven by melody, storytelling and humanity, and the group's live performances are full of heart, humour and spontaneous connection, a true conversation between friends. A musician whose music moves, uplifts and lingers long in the memory, Stories on the Wind is a celebration of that journey and an open invitation to listen attentively, absorb, and applaud her undoubted talent. Hannah Horton (Tenor/BaritoneSaxophones), Sam Leak (Keyboard), Rob Statham (Bass Guitar), Steve Taylor (Drums) - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/colchester/hannah-horton-quartet-she-engages-you-inspires-you-and-captivates-you-£20-adv-£22-door/200030642618556 - **Event Categories**: Music, Entertainment, Art - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 ## Ticket Details ## Event venue details - **city**: Colchester - **state**: EN - **country**: United Kingdom - **location**: Wivenhoe Congregational Church, 101 High Street, CO7 9AB Wivenhoe, United Kingdom - **lat**: 51.85866 - **long**: 0.95966 - **full address**: Wivenhoe Congregational Church, 101 High Street, CO7 9AB Wivenhoe, United Kingdom, 103 High Street, Colchester, CO7 9AF, United Kingdom ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: Hannah Horton Quartet: "She engages you, inspires you and captivates you.” £20 adv. £22 door - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events6/banners/e9b8fd3b6a905ea838d304c8a281fa5432669053fd562a94e167d4bc4d40ff5d-rimg-w1200-h1600-dcd8d8d8-gmir?v=1788262195 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is Hannah Horton Quartet: "She engages you, inspires you and captivates you. £20 adv. £22 door being held? - **A:** Hannah Horton Quartet: "She engages you, inspires you and captivates you. £20 adv. £22 door takes place on Sun, 29 Nov, 2026 at 07:30 pm to Sun, 29 Nov, 2026 at 09:30 pm at Wivenhoe Congregational Church, 101 High Street, CO7 9AB Wivenhoe, United Kingdom, 103 High Street, Colchester, CO7 9AF, United Kingdom. - **Q**: Who is organizing Hannah Horton Quartet: "She engages you, inspires you and captivates you. £20 adv. £22 door? - **A:** Hannah Horton Quartet: "She engages you, inspires you and captivates you. £20 adv. £22 door is organized by The Music Mix Wivenhoe. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
