Basic Bloke 2 β Thereβs No Bloke Without Fire is the latest tour from comedian, author, podcaster and radio host Geoff Norcott and Geoffβs first under a Labour government, so heβs got plenty to get off his chest! Not least because thereβs nothing quite so British as being promised a brave new dawn then realising itβs as crap as the last one.
Geoff will savour getting his teeth into the new βbig beastsβ of British politics, with scathing words for Starmer and Rachel Reeves (while surprisingly positive about the idea of Angela Rayner as PM).
Culturally, Geoff is conscious that β as the global headwinds shift right β he might end up at odds with people who used to be on βhis sideβ. Heβs dismayed to find that some of the cultural right werenβt really against censorship and cancellation, they just wanted to be the ones doing it.
Whatβs more, Geoff canβt get his head around people who shared his suspicion of the EUβs power openly salivating over the idea of Britain becoming Trumpβs 51st State.

Unlike most sequels, Basic Bloke 2 will move beyond some of the themes of the original (while fully aware that a comedian doing a βsequelβ at all is a bit ridiculous).
Heβs been moving in male mental health circles for a while how, but while theyβre all saying blokes should βcheck inβ on each other, heβs wondering what happens if you do βcheck inβ all the time but they mainly want to send you politically incorrect memes.
Geoffβs also taking advantage of the rediscovered tolerance towards jokes being jokes to tell you what he really thinks. How much he judges people. Bad parents, people who eat too much, anyone who wears a dressing gown beyond 9amβ¦itβs fair to say the gloves are off.
