TAPS Technology Field Day – Colby (NWREC)
Tuesday, July 29
10:00 AM (Lunch + Optional Golf Scramble)
K-State Northwest Research-Extension Center, Colby, KS
Join us in Colby for the 2025 TAPS Technology Field Day!
Tour the TAPS competition plots, connect with partners and industry leaders, and get hands-on with the latest in irrigation, crop, and soil monitoring tools. This year’s event will highlight forage sorghum and its role in limited irrigation systems, with insights from K-State Cropping Systems Agronomist Logan Simon.
We’re also excited to welcome Shannon Kenyon and Jack Polifka from GMD 4 to share updates on the Irrigation Technology Initiative (ITI), a state-supported effort helping producers evaluate and improve their irrigation systems.
The event is free and open to all, not just current TAPS participants, thanks to the generosity of Western Kansas Irrigation and our technology partners: Sentek, CropX, AquaSpy, Arable, GroGuru, Phytech, and Sentinel Fertigation. The KSU-TAPS forage competition is partly sponsored by the United Sorghum Checkoff Program and Kansas Sorghum.
Lunch will be provided, and we’ll cap the day with an optional golf scramble.
